LosslessCut – my new favorite video tool

For years I've been looking for a "simple" tool that would be capable of chopping up video files without re-encoding them. I think I finally found that with LosslessCut, an open source video editing tool you can find on Github and the App Store.

Home movies

I've been digitizing in DVDs that I used to record old VHS home movies. Each VHS tape was a mish-mash of recordings from different times periods interspersed with episodes of Home Improvement and Star Trek recorded off cable TV.

LosslessCut has been amazing for slicing and dicing those videos to make them far more digestable and at home in the Plex environment.
